Rob Nairn will be leading a weekend retreat at Ampleforth Abbey from 6th to 8th July 2012.
Amplforth Abbey is in North Yorkshire and is set in beautiful surroundings and the staff there offer great hospitality. This retreat in previous years has been characterised by a group of lovely people coming together to hear Rob's excellent teachings. If the weather is nice, we take the opportunity to do some walking meditation outside on the lawn.
On last year's retreat we investigated our inner environment, noticing how different our inner environment is when we engage the undercurrent, when compared to how it is when we don't engage the undercurrent. So when we take a step back from our undercurrent, a change takes place. Moods, mindstates, emotions, thoughts and feelings, which seem so real and important when we engage them, seem more trivial and unreal when we don't engage them.
